Literature Text

At dawn you greet me with colors so bold
Your surface shining a vivid crimson
Looking into your depths my heart you hold
In peace, at last, when your waters glisten
At dusk you rock me to sleep as you dance
Your voice soft and steady reaching all shores
Beauty so great it puts me in a trance
I feel you suddenly grasping my oars
You pull me into your depths with a wave
I see the surface is slowly fading
I let you take me at last to my grave
You have always been good at persuading
Since my first sail I have loved you, my sea
And now forever and always I’ll have thee.
This is a sonnet i wrote form my english class about a sailor falling on love with the sea. The end may seem a bit depressing to some but the sailor gets in a shipwreck and drowns. Though they know they now will be forever with their love so they die in peace.
